Progressive Lenses
Sometimes called “no-line” bifocals, progressive lenses give you a more youthful appearance by eliminating the visible lines found in bifocal and trifocal lenses. They provide the ability to see at all ranges, including distance, for computer use, and at near for reading. The “image jump” that occurs for bifocal and trifocal wearers is eliminated.
Scratch Resistance Protection
Although no lens material is “scratch-proof”, it may be important to you to protect your new lenses with a scratch resistant treatment. With this treatment, lenses are treated with a clear, hard coating, and offer the protection against minor scratches that will keep your lenses looking newer longer.
Reflection-Free Lenses
Reflection-free coating is a microscopically thin multilayer coating that helps to eliminate reflections from the front and back surface of eyewear lenses. This coating makes lenses nearly invisible so people can see your eyes and expressions more clearly. Visual benefits include sharper vision with less glare when driving at night and greater comfort during prolonged computer use.
Ultraviolet Treatment
This beneficial lens treatment is an invisible dye that blocks ultraviolet (UV) radiation from entering your eyes. Overexposure to UV rays is thought to be a cause of cataracts, retinal damage and other eye problems. For people who have had cataract surgery, we ALWAYS recommend that their lenses have UV treatment.
Photochromic Lenses
Photochromic lenses are eyewear lenses that are clear (or nearly clear) indoors and darken automatically when exposed to sunlight. Often, these lenses are called “Transitions” lenses since this is the name of the most popular brand, although there are many different brands available. Photochromic lenses will darken on overcast days, as well as sunny days, and some newer materials even darken behind a windshield while inside a car.

Tinted lenses are often used for cosmetic purposes, but there are different colors that can be applied to lenses that have specific applications.
Shooting Glasses
Yellow or orange are often added to a lens to enhance contrast, especially in overcast conditions, making it a popular tint for target shooting.
Golf Glasses
Brown is a color that heightens contrast while preserving color balance and works well for golfers
Polarized Lenses
These types of lenses are specifically designed to filter certain types of glares that tend to radiate upward from sunlight bouncing off of horizontal surfaces.
